Hello Northeasters. I'm new to Stovebolt. Just bought a '55 Chevy 3200 (long bed) step-side. Is there a local club? Looking forward to meeting folks at shows in the northeast. I also have a 1947 Ford convertible.

Welcome. I live just east of Gorham, NH. Nice 55! I may host a wrench turning, campfire and Stovebolt drive-in sometime soon. It will be a scaled down reunion open to all - especially to those who want to roll up their sleeves, crack open a favorite beverage, sit around a fire and grill out. Lots to see and do here, from camping, taking in the White Mountains, fishing for trout across the road, paddling to Bethel for a day and stopping at the local brewery. I like Ford’s too. Welcome. Tom

Welcome aboard, David! Man, have you come to the right place! And you are in good hands with Tom and Hambone (should he decide to chime in ...). Sounds like you could be a catalyst for some really cool doings!

I'm expecting great things from you Granite Staters!

And I like your car, too. Is that like the one that went over the cliff in Rebel Without a Cause?

I am joining in the group from New London. Looking forward to salt free roads and a few miles out and about thereafter.
Tom, are you teasing us about a burger and beer at some point?

So ... while you are all still lounging by the fire, in your chic apres-ski attire in the baselodge at Mt Cranmore sipping lattes, *we* here in the sunny, warm South have been cavorting with Hambone's truck ...

You guys will need to teach him how to hide his keys better...

Hey, John while it is out and about, throw it on a trailer and drag it up here. I will kick Sarah out of her part of the garage.

Is that the swamp I swam across B.A.N. a few years ago in late April? You guys were the witnesses!

Unless you have .... nope, never mind. Belay my last.

Hambone -- I would if I could, but the trailer is loaded with unsplit oak logs at the moment ... Darn.

Hambone - A little late to this party in my reply - but no teasing - burgers, beer, and some tire kicking - all at the same time. Would be nice to get us NH, Maine, MA, and Vt folks together. Even if its for a day....to make further plans. I have ideas - they scare me a bit, but i have ideas. Sort of like a a roving band of never-do-well Stovebolters - visiting each other for a day or three to help on getting a job done... whatever it is - body work, engine pulling, garage building, vehicle painting, brake rebuilding, starting an engine and driving a rig for the first time, you name it...not that these are on my list by any means.

Playing with google maps, it looks like four of you are less than an hour from each other.
Hambone is about two hours and Tom is over three. Looks like the Concord area would be a good location for a meet and greet.

I am game for a gather this spring. Can go any of many directions depending on the interest and where folks are coming from. Will see who chimes in and then I will start a new thread.
