I found that the spark plugs were not firing. Out of desperation I replaced Points,plugs,condencer,rotor,dist.cap & coil {points set at .016} but still plugs will not fire. There is a solid 12 volts down to the points, from there I'm lost. Can any of you guy's tell me what I need to do next?? | | | | | Joined: Sep 2012 Posts: 306 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Sep 2012 Posts: 306 | ** Update on the 261 that the plugs will not fire. ** After being on the phone for about 30 min. with Hotrod Lincoln "Jerry" got me headed in the right direction to get the plugs to fire. Long story short somehow the dist. had lost it's ground. Per jerry I ran jumper from the dist. to engine head & the engine fired right-off. "So Simple But So Far Away" Lesson learned. Maybe this may help someone else.
