Hey guys, I’ve got this 1949 super short bus on a 3900 or 4100 chassis. I’ve heard rumor that the three-quarter ton front spindle might fit it. I’m trying to lighten it up a little, Plus I’d like it to match the lug pattern of the later model eight lug rear axle, I hope to put in it. this is a link to a picture. Thanks! :-)

Hy bigscooter, please remember to tell us the year of the truck you are asking questions about and the series designation. Your picture shows a late 40s early 50s 1 1/2 ton chassis.

I don't know about the spindle swap, but you may be able to use the front axle of a 1-ton of that era, 8 bolt, and there are disk conversions available for the 1-ton 8 lug.

that does sound like a promising optional route. I was just hoping if somebody knew if I could change just the spindles or even better just the hubs and backing plates. :-)

I would be interested in front/rear drum/hub and brakes.

Thanks Brad

Thanks Brad

That would be a heck of a shipping bill from Southern Oregon
