I've seen many trucks that have had the wing windows eliminated by using a one-piece glass. Is this done with a kit of some sorts? If so, does it work well?
The window regulator is completely different between '50 and earlier (full window) and '51 and later (wing windows.) So it's not going to be a piece of cake. Might be easier to swap doors if you have a '51, but if '52 or later, the door latches are different.

Thanks for the info, I thought that you could possibly change my '53 doors into the one-piece window door. I just finished my truck, and would hate to replace the doors just for the windows. In all honesty, it seems that the only outside mirrors that work good with the wing windows are the terrible looking monster stock mirrors, and a rear view mirror is very necessary part of driving my truck (which is why I want the do away with my wing windows).
Friends who have converted their doors have told me (1) it was difficult and (2) they didn't like it once everything was finished. They liked the look of the single glass pane, but they had more wind noise around the glass and they had constant rattles. Possibly it was due to their work, but these were guys who normally didn't make mistakes. Good luck.

Again, I do like the vents, love the air, actually like the look, blah, blah, blah, just hate the (again) big stock mirrors and the arms that they mount to. If I could find a better looking mirror that works well with the vent windows that would cure my wanting to go to the one-piece glass.

We do a lot of vent window deletions usually in conjunction with power window conversion. Currently have a 49 Studebaker pickup and a 34 Chevy coupe in the shop with vent window delete kits. Vent windows are the biggest source of wind noise so a properly installed one piece glass is more quiet. I like the Hagan kit but my nephew uses the Bill's kit. Search "vent window delete kit".
