Any of you guys ever torn apart a '35 cab? Im about to start on mine. The wood sub frame is pretty substantial. Any tips on where to start and what NOT to do would be appreciated.

If your talking about a 34-35 Chevrolet then I would begin by removing the doors first, then the windshield asm. How far are you going? Do you have to replace door posts? Do you want to completely disassemblethe whole cab? Some of the wood to be replaced requires the outside sheet metal to be removed first to get a the attachment screws. What are you going to do with the cab?

I want to replace the wood and electro dip the cab metal. I figure it will be easier to dip in pieces. Ive already started removing the windshield post metal but thought maybe I should seek advice from someone who'se done it before to keep from screwing something up. Most of the wood is solid but a few areas are rotten.

Ive already removed the doors.

The cab top would be next and it has a whole lot of carriage bolts holding it in place as well as brackets at the top of each door post. after that you can remove the metal from the rear posts & back use a large flat blade to remove nails just enought to grab the heads with pliers. The dash needs to be removed; then cowl assembly can be separated from the wood sills and then the dash wood and frt door posts can be removed. Rocker panels are just nailed to the bottom sill. Look closely for all the screw removing the remainder of the wood rear posts and floor/seat risers. take your time and work carefully.
