I just came across this picture which i think is interesting. But was this a factory model are did the soldiers take out the door and removed the roof. The canvas top looks also self made

GM would make the military whatever they needed but there is a model 3112.
Chassis with cowl and windshield but no cab.
Got to have it to make a Good Humor Ice Cream Truck.

Cabs like that could have also been used for firetruck conversions.

No windshield and no cab model 3102.
Fire department pumper trucks would more likely be a 4102 to carry the weight.
