I have an opportunity to purchase a 2000 Camaro w/built LS1, 6spd manual transmission and 8.9” posi rear which I am hoping will work well in my 1951 Chevy 3100. Does anyone know what I can use aside from engine & transmission? Can I use any of the suspension, brakes etc?? This is in very good condition and buying from my son who was going to use it for a build of his own but he has too many projects. Any help would be huge and greatly appreciated

A very very poor attempt at answering your question. Hopefully it is enough to help a little.

Thoroughly check the condition of the engine and transmission before you begin.
Example:
The Borg Warner T-56 (1993-97)...good. Tremec T-56 (1997 later)...problematic. This is info gathered off the Internet whether true or not.
A built LS1? Engine rebuilt and HP parts added or original engine with HP parts added.
Your LS1 is fuel injected so there is a computer. How good are you at wiring?

Since you have both axles available, you should measure yourself from backing plate to backing plate and compare.
Obviously the 2000 Camaro is not fitted for leaf springs.

Front axle maybe spindles with rotors and brake assembly can be reused.

The quickest and safest route is to buy a prefabricated frame-suspension-steering package designed for your truck.

The rear axle is ~64" WMS/WMS, which is a lot wider than your truck. You might be able to make that up with wheels, but it will take some shenanigans.

The camaro doesn't have a front axle, it uses an IFS. You might be able to move the whole front clip over, but that will have a big effect on your height and stance.

Maybe if you could give us an idea of where you are trying to go with the truck, we could offer better suggestions. Are you looking to do a restomod or a hot rod? Are you wanting to keep it mostly stock but add more power? Those kind of questions.

Adapting the frt frame to the original frame might be less head aches and cheaper. I used an S10 rear axle assy from a 4x4 truck with disc brakes posi rear 3:70 ratio used coil over 4 link to install to original frame worked well. Still trying to get front set up using a Total Cost Involved frt crossmember kit 2005 Tahoe LS1 5.3 with 4l60e trans. Fitting it has been a challenge clearing rack and pinion connection and oil pan issues to fit the application...using the Camaro frame section would solve those issues I would think. Guess that is why we call it fun...lol
