I'm ready to install the headliner in my 53 model 3100. I have all of the pieces, and have read many posts & the tech tips. I just have one question. I think that the center bow snaps (springs) into position. But I'm not sure what the ends of it rest on, once installed. Does it rest on the windlace track? or what? The only pic that I found wasn't clear enough to really see it. I'm sure that there are probably some good pics in the gallery, but I couldn't find them. If you have a good pic of the ends of the bow please guide me to it. Thanks

Good picture, thanks. Do you happen to know if the end of the bow is resting on the windlace track, or is it all of the way behind the sheet metal flange that the windlace track is welded to?

I don't feel so bad about my screw-up. Mine is at the curve. I also did a screwdriver slip and scratched the headliner. What I don't understand is how they got the door weatherstrip to be smooth at the curve. Mine, by nature, creased in two places as it curved.
54 Chevy 3100 Deluxe 3 speed on column. Keeping original as possible but changed to 12 volt system. JB Weld..."I put that stuff on everything"
Joe Dude I think the windless was better stuff back then. My 48 2-ton is original and the windless is still pliable,headliner needs replacing but I know I can.t get that windless this good if I disturb it!! Sooo??? Just drive it,is my gravel hauler and totally stock except have it on propane. Hoist works fine can spread gravel with it !!
Mike Burns My 51 looks like that picture,it has had 3 homemade cardboard headliners in 40 yrs. Not a real fancy job ,good enough on a wood hauler/winchtruck,put rear part in first end up at windshield trim.
