3835911 is a 1954 USA Chevrolet truck engine block casting code.
What is the Engine Serial Number pressed/stamped into the block on the "ledge" to the rear of the distributor?
Find and post other codes
at the locations shown on this page . They will confirm date/year of the block and head.

If I am not mistaken I read some were the 1954 235 with powerglide transmission had the inserts only on them or am I wrong. The engine I am looking has a four speed transmission on it also with the shifter on the top of the transmission most likely from a truck. What letter or number of the serial number does it show it is a manual transmission????????? Marv.

Insert rod bearings starter with the 1953 Powerglige engine. All 1954 and later engines used them.
