Some of the fresh air heaters in the AD trucks had a cable that activated the flapper inside, to turn the defroster on and off. Where did the knob end of this cable mount on the dash? I can't seem to find that detail in any of the books. It seems strange that none of the parts dealers mention this cable, at least not that I can find.

The cable goes under dash with a bracket below the light switch here are a few pictures,in the one you can see the cable going to the drivers side of the dash and the other is a picture of the knob under the dash . Pics from internet

What size nut is used to hold these cables in? I can't get far enough under the dash to see it.
