Had to swap Bell housings. Ok, fine. Took off clutch cover and plate, took of flywheel, took off old bell housing, put on new(actually older) bell housing, put on flywheel, torqued bolts, put clutch plate and cover on with alignment tool in the same holes as before, tighten bolts in cross pattern to suck cover down evenly. Clutch plate and cover are new. The plastic line up tool slides in and out with ease, it goes in all the way. When I look at the diaphragm spring it isn't centered.
My question is, will this be a problem. I am a little compulsive about things being even/centered, but is this common?
Those plastic line up tools are not very accurate. Its best to use an old trans. shaft. How about the pilot brg.? Is it OK? Hook up the clutch linkage & if the trans does not go all the way in, push the clutch in so it can line up. It will be ok then. George

I have a line on and old shaft used for line up. I had a very reputable mechanic rebuild the engine while I was wandering around the ocean. Pilot bearing is new. I will mate up transmission and make sure everything fits.
