Hi, I have done the whole hood alignment process per the manual. I had to elongate the holes on the right side pretty significantly to lower the hinge. It is bottomed out on the step and can’t go any lower. I would like to lower the hood another 1/8” on the right side. One thing I was thinking of doing is drilling out the rivets that hold the hood to the brace and put some shims in there to tighten the hood on the bracket and lower the hood a bit more. Has anyone removed these rivets before? Was there any trouble in doing so? Can I replace with screws?
The Book gives reference to this very issue. It recommends hammering the step flatter to allow lowering the hood hinge. I recommend trying a big red plastic dead blow hammer to save the paint. 1/8" shouldn't take too many blows.

Thank you. I did see that but I didn’t think it was talking about that big step. I was looking for a smaller hump that might be stopping the hinge from going lower. Ok… bigger hammer it is. thank you
