Hello folks I am trying to find out what color is the front bumper is supposed to be on a 1950 4400 1 1/2 ton ? From looking at the old sales brochures it appears to be silver or light gray. I thought they were supposed to be black like the running board but looks like I was wrong.

Anvil Gray on all models of 1950 Chevrolet trucks, except for the Suburban Carryall models (chrome bumpers on 3106 & 3116).

Thank you for the help, I had always thought it was supposed to be black until I saw the sales brochure

For a few years I think they were painted gray rather then chromed because of the shortage of materials for the Korean war.

I've probably owned more Medium Duty Chevrolet Trucks than the average man, and the original 1/1/2, and 2 ton trucks I've owned, always had light gray bumpers. We just finished this one two years ago. The picture makes it look lighter, but that bumper is a light gray color.

Here's another one. Front bumper, and wheels, are the light gray color.

Spanky is correct. The medium duty trucks all had a pressed steel bumper that was painted gray. This went through all years of the ad series trucks.
