Can anyone let me know how to tell if my truck has the original rear leaf springs? Where can i purchase leaf springs for a 55 second series. The front of the pickup has a 1978 Camaro suspension. I think the rear is the original with someone installing a newer axel and rear end. Thanks.

Assuming we're talking about a 31-3200 1/2 ton, you should have 7 leaves that are 2" wide with the total stack being about 2" thick. Total length would be 52" center of eye to center of eye.

St. Louis Spring can fix you up. I have bought 2 sets of springs from them (two different trucks) and was very pleased. Please note that I am not in any way affiliated with them, just a happy customer.

Eaton Detroit Spring will fix you up with the correct spring rates so the ride will not be like a lumber wagon https://www.eatondetroitspring.com With an altered front clip, you will want to alter the rear to match the ride of the front, as it is, it's no longer the truck GM designed so weight carrying capability has be compromised, no need for heavy springs on the back.
