I'm putting the '48 on jack stands in very tight quarters. Is it OK to lift the front in the center of the axle and place both jack stands at once? Same with the rear by lifting on the differential?

I've always done them one at a time.

No problem. Unless you have a couple of tons of sand in the truck. Its been done that way for years.

There’s a thread about jackstands, Harbor Freights particularly. It is wise to also use 6x6 wood blocks or similar to protect yourself from a jack failure.
