I have 6 lug aftermarket chrome wheels on my 1959 GMC 100 with raised white letter tires. I'dather see it with original style steel wheels and tires, and hubcaps that came with it. Wonder if anybody has a good recommendation for source for some good OEM style wheels. I think they were painted body color and had a trim ring and center cap with a white wall tire. Maybe I'm seeing the right wheels available at Ecklers?

To the best of my knowledge all of the aftermarket wheels are a copy of the Chevy ralley wheels. They come with either the ralley slots, artillery style, or smoothies. I have the smoothies on my truck and they look stock except for the depth. You can get them in a variety of widths and bolt patterns. The difference from stock wheels is that they are made to fit the ralley style hub caps. You can have the stock caps modified to fit these wheels. They remove the mounting ring and weld in a smaller ring to fit the new style wheels.

Not sure what you are after, but stock steel wheels are readily available for sale in the used and salvage market places. Cheaper too.

Are the stock steel wheels for Advance Design trucks split rims?

You may want to look at Wheelsmith.

Their Smoothie steel wheels are very close to the original steel wheels. They'll powder coat them any color you want or sell them to you in bare steel to paint them yourself.

The attached pictures are missing the 3X hubcap clips (usually rusted away) but new ones can be purchased.

Original wheels have rivets which need to be checked. Loose rivets = air leaks for tubeless tires.

Some really good info- Thanks a bunch. I really like the Wheelsmith smoothies with the GMC caps and beauty rings. Seem very close to original type wheels with a nice clean look.
