We need a little more info. Can you post a picture of the setup and your bell crank?

I added a small piece of metal to the lever of the carburetors ( W-1s ) so I open the carburetors by pulling down. See the circle in the attached photo. Everything is polished or black so pictures don't come out to well. The green intake in the second picture is the same one, you can see how the linkage works. Cable pulls back towards the cab pulling the links down via stock GM bell cranks. The green intake has Rochester Mono-jets installed, I swapped them for W-1s and painted it black.

My carbs only had holes in the original levers, so a 1/4-20 bolt and lock nut was all I needed to add them. My truck uses a cable pull, the original linkage was long gone before I got the truck. The cable was easy to route from an aftermarket throttle pedal. I used the front carb for vacuum to distributor, back one is plugged off. PCV is in the center of manifold. The manifold has a 5/8" thick air gap under it for heat from a stock exhaust manifold. If you open the green picture, you will see the bottom of the manifold is not flat, it has a chamber under it, without the heat, it takes for ever to get on the road while waiting for it to warm up. I also don't use a choke. It always starts with a little throttle.
