Waa HOO!! I just spent THREE WONDERFUL, UNINTERRUPTED HOURS working on the 4400!!! The rear brakes, 3 years after disassembling them, are FINISHED!!!! 2005 is off to a great start!! But those return springs are boogers, aren't they? Motivated and happy John

Pictures of the brake job or the bloody thumb?? I have photos of the brake job but I had to take them with the film camera as our digital went belly up over the holidays (too many little kids in the house...)
I'll post 'em as soon as they come back from getting developed.
Regards, John

I thought you were selling the 4400? Good to hear you are making progress putting it back together.

Then, an opportunity to buy an immaculate '63 Mack B-61 tractor located less than ten miles away came along and I got pretty motivated about that. It fell through. Then, when no one seemed interested in the 4400, I gave up trying to sell the collection of parts that had, at one time, been a '49 4400. So now I am back to completing the restoration. But I gotta tell ya, I got pretty excited this weekend when I got the entire brake system finished and the rear wheels on. Seeing a completed rolling frame is motivational! Now all I have to do is finish the engine and get it back in (I have everything I need for that except time and an engine crane). So I think I'm through the "wall" and back in the race. Now if I can just get those brakes bled!! John
