I have a 57 235 with the Pertronix kit in the original distributor. Do you need HEI plug wires for this or will stock style work? 12volt original coil.

I had a faulty ignition switch which remained on once the key was removed. I am lucky that my truck did not burn to the ground overnight.

I have owned it for 20+ years and have had the Pertronix in it for over 15+ years. I am chasing gremlins which is the reason for the questions (electronic ignition kit, plug wires, current condensers available, carb rebuilding, etc). FYI the current Napa/Echlin inventory at my local Napa is made in Mexico.

Change the fuel filter(s) and fingers crossed that rust didn't get to it. After 6 years the Ethanol breaks down to water and stuff that doesn't want to burn (even with additives).

Just make it look like what you took out,be sure it has clearance for oil up and down . | | |
