I'd like to have a discussion on what areas of the 58/59 Chevrolet interior were painted different colors. I'm not concerned with the actual colors, just want to know what areas got taped off for a two-tone paint job.

My research only has the top of the dash, door panel inserts and the steering wheel/column as being painted a different color. Did any of the floor, steps or riser get two-toned?

Thanks,

Mike B smile

It may be helpful to check out Jim and Sabrina's well documented restoration of their 1959 apache. There is a wealth of information, including interior paint scheme.

That's a great document and when looking at the interior colors there I see where the steps and riser are painted Charcoal when the doorposts are Silver-beige. Is that the way Chevrolet did it in '59? For a production truck that seems like a lot of extra work to keep the different colors all separated. Does anyone have factory pictures of it being done like that?

Search the Internet for 1958 (and/or 1959) Chevrolet Truck Color Sales Brochure.

You would have to buy one - I cannot find one "online".

My '58 is finished as it was when it came out of Willow Run, Mi. Lugo Restoration did a spectacular finish on the interior details. I can post the pics in the gallery section or in this thread. Let me know what specifics you need.
