But tester says 13.9 volts at battery is it possible I have the 2 wires switched on the back of amp gauge showing slight discharge instead of slight charge . Disconnect the battery and switch the wires at the ammeter and it should read correctly. AC current doesn't care about polarity on an ammeter, but DC current does.
