Lots of work on Brad's part ... pure enjoyment (and references) for you!

For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Sep 2013 Posts: 1,361 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Sep 2013 Posts: 1,361 | Just a word of warning. If you've spotted a neglected forgotten looking AD truck, or other desirable truck at the back of a pasture or behind the shed and been thinking about checking on it. It's time. Grandson and I sold a load of excess inventory precious metal (some would say junk) yesterday. Price for pure scrap (not clean iron) was $10 a hundred. A buddy with a auto salvage yard is hauling cars to the crusher asap.
When scrap prices are up, a lot of good old iron disappears.

The heavy metal cars and trucks were first to go BUT the owner had enough wits about him to save the AD trucks, Camaros, Firebirds, Barracudas, Chevelles etc. The 40's and 50's "land yachts" were crunched. I saw a 1949 Olds 88 destroyed. A wreck yard has to make a profit to survive so the old unwanted (for parts) are dragged away to make room for the newer cars and trucks.
If it wasn't for the ole lady going on the warpath, I'd bring home a few of them.
