Hello all, several years ago, I swapped out the old vacuum wiper motor for an electric wiper motor in my 54 Chevy five window 3100. The problem I have is, the wipers don't park like they should, they park with the wipers in an upright position, any suggestions as to why? Did I install it incorrectly or??? Thanks in advance...Clint
You didn't say if you have the original or reproduction electrical wiper motor.
The original has to be adjusted on the bench (removed from truck). There is an inside park setting screw to adjust. Let me know if you need this procedure.
Attached is info on a reproduction electrical wiper motor (may not be exactly like yours). This information should have been included with the other documentation in your kit. I don't have this motor so I'm sorry I can't recommend an angle and park setting. I would suggest you contact the business you purchased from and get better information.

Look at the wiper control knob on the dash. The original electrical motor used the same knob and mechanical cable as the vacuum motor. The kit has a new knob and electrical switch (see picture).

e-mailed the manual to the factory wiper motor to the address shown in your profile. There is definitely a park function to the motor. The manual will make it more clear. If it is a factory electric wiper motor, there will be two holes in the top of the dash that are wiper motor mount holes.
Yes, he would have had to drill the two dash holes if he used the original stabilizing bracket. Not an easy task. That's why I think he installed a kit.
