In the field that says Keyword Search Terms enter with quotation marks: "manifold paint" Where it says Date Range, Newer than, you want to delete the number in the first box, then click the down arrows in the next box to the right, then select the blank. Where it says Older than enter 1 in the box, then to the right click the down arrow and select days. At the bottom click on Search Forums.

I like natural cast iron rust. It's easiest to maintain.

Any overspray burnt off in short order. Unpainted natural finish is considered to be correct for judging purposes.

It turns them a deep black that won't burn off like paint, and it's easy to reapply occasionally with just a cotton cloth to a cold manifold. Its probably nothing more than what HRL's "stove polish" is made of. I use The dark gray engine paint available from thefillingstation.com on the rest of the engine and the intake manifold. The Caylx lasts a good year. If it needs to be touched up, it is just a matter of wiping more on the manifold. Then you get another year of a nice looking manifold.

I think I'll go with grey on the intake and "cast" on the exhaust. I'm not going for concourse judging, I just want it to look somewhat period correct. | | | | | Joined: Jun 2008 Posts: 325 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jun 2008 Posts: 325 | I like the idea of stove polish. I used barbeque paint but it is beginning to rust. | | |
