Hi All, I have a 51 3800 with a 58 235ci motor and I don't know what the four speed is so I can replace the clutch. It does a pto on it. How do I decode the numbers on it? Thank you in advance, Gerry Lee

Go to the Novak site it is probably a Muncie sm 420 .if you search the numbers it should also tell the year but the Novak site shows the differences as well .

It's good to know what year/model transmission you have but that is not necessarily going to determine what clutch you need. It could possibly have a 10" or 11" clutch depending on which flywheel it has. The only way to get the correct clutch is to remove it and match it up or have it rebuilt.
