Someone local to me has a chevy tailgate for sale which has some letters upside down. He claims it came from the factory that way. This seems hard to believe unless the letters were not stamped at one time. But even if it's possible I'm surprised GM would let one get out like that. Has anybody ever heard of anything like this?

It looks to me like your looking at the inside of the tailgate.
EDIT: The seller is right, it did come from the factory that way. I think he is looking at the wrong side! Here is a picture of the inside of a tailgate from a 60-66 fleetside.
