The front wrap on these big bolts is in proportion to the large tires etc. I can't offer first hand experience on the '52 though.

Are the bonnet emblems for the bigger bolts axailable from any of the suppliers?

There is one on E-bay now but it is for a 54-55 which is different than yours. Jeff McCoy at Bowtie Bits is quite helpful in finding stuff for the big bolts. His toll free number is 1-888-838-6887.
