Thought I'd post this over here too as well as the lounge - any of y'all going to drive your big iron in a 4th of July Parade?

and p.s. - does anyone have measurements for the bolt holes for my hood bird for a '58 GMC hood?

Big Blue - gettin\' ready for Parade Duty

Pretty. I suppose having a big slow platform obligates you for parade duty, huh?

If I can ever find some sheet metal without holes, maybe the city of Rockville will recruit me.

Sorry no clue on the holes for the bird - I've got a '59 Chevy 6400 and a parts book for it, bolt sizes for things they both have are prob common. Alas, only those spiffy GMC jobs get stuff on the hood!

Syko-

Did you find a radiator for your big bolt? Parade duty requires exta cooling!

yup - sorry, never told the board about that. trivia will follow in a new thread, don't want to hijack this one.

will say this about the parade idea tho - low gears gotta be good for SOMETHING other than heavy loads, right?

She's definately got the low gears. Even with the two speed rear, driving 50-55 is an "experience" to say the least.

Kook has got a lead for me on an original hood bird package that has a template.
