Most likely thery're 3/8-16, grade 8, around 3/4" or 1" long. Places like Tractor Supply or Fastenal should have them on the shelf. You could also use Allen socket head bolts- - - -all the above are available by the thousands on Ebay. "This ain't rocket surgery!"

Good luck threading those bolts listed in the first link into a flywheel- - - - -they're for attaching an automatic transmission flex plate to the crankshaft. The ARP 3/8-16 X 3/4" or 1" flange bolts would probably work, WITHOUT a lock washer. Use blue LocTite instead.

While we're at it.. I read there was no condernable difference between an automatic flywheel and a manual.. I am bolting a manual to this flywheel.. It says auto written on it.. I got no clue if it matters.. everything seems to match up fine..

A flex plate for an automatic transmission is a thin piece of steel plate with a starter ring gear welded to it. The torque converter is bolted to it and provides the inertia to keep the crankshaft spinning smoothly. Standard shift flywheels are about an inch thick, and weigh in at 30-40 pounds plus the rotating weight of the clutch and pressure plate, so whomever told you they're the same has his "head up and locked" as we used to say in the USAF! On an internally-balanced engine like an inline six, there won't be any difference in the balance of a flex plate or a flywheel.

Just for general parts interchange info between a 230 / 250 and a 292, you might find this link useful...

38 1.5 ton I see this is old...you know those pressure plate bolts have an area with no threads that supports the pressure plate and goes into a recess in the flywheel bolt hole. they are not just ordinary bolts from your hardware store. On a high winder you may recieve a visit from your pressure plate.

Hope it is of some help.

GDads51 A friend who was no mechanic bolted up his pressure plate with just soft bolts,up at the gas station he opened the hood and raced that engine, blew the pressure plate down, well his girlfriend was sitting right above it no one hurt but for weeks after that you would see bolts and springs laying around there. So gotta watch out !!

GDads51 On your wife's 66 chevelle does it happen to be 327 with a Carter AVS (air valve secondary) carburetor ?? I had a plain jane 275 horse 4-speed that was the best sounding piece ever. With an exposed air filter it sounded just as tuff as any quadra-jet.Wore that whole outfit out, eventually put it in an AD 52 pickup never sounded as good again something about that flat hood I guess.
