In the Accessory installation manual for 1959, when installing an inside rearview mirror bracket there is a metal reinforcement piece that's used with the radio speaker cover. PN 3725269 in my 1963 MP book. What's the reinforcement prevent from happening?
Seems like the only way to get this reinforcement is to buy a NOS rearview mirror bracket kit, which are kind of pricey on ebay right now. Chevy wouldn't have put the piece in if it wasn't needed for something, just trying to figure out what it prevented and if there's an alternative method. Thanks.
