Does anyone have a picture of a correct upper hood support brace that goes over the radiator ?

I don’t know if it’s a hood support problem or a radiator problem….

The filler spout looks high. Does it clear the hood?

How high is your filling spout from the top of the radiator?

Hood fit pretty well and cleared without any issues. I can measure the distance for you tomorrow

I do not know if the radiator mounting is the same for 1940 vs 1946, but the later year model needs to have the fasteners, rubber pads and springs and the “V” support rod adjusted just right in order to get the hood to fit correctly. In looking at your photo, my guess is the radiator mounts may need some adjustments?

The radiator sits in a frame which controls the height of the radiator. There is virtually no adjustment for the radiator within the frame. The frame/front clip, sits on two thin rubber pads which could be adjusted to align the hood somewhat but that won’t effect the clearance of the radiator fill spout/cap and the hood.

1.5 inches on the short side and just about 2 inches on the long side.
