I finally got my 1954 6400 dump home and had a chance to look it over pretty good. With the wealth of knowledge here I was hoping to find out the engine size. The flat area on the block between the starter and distributer reads 248.Possibly saw an "s" in frount of it.3 big letters are tellin' me its GMC powered. I checked my vintage Motors truck manuel and there is a 248CI 6 made up to 1955.Any help would be great. Thanks. grin

The 248 in the serial number means its a 248.
