I'm holding around 17 hg's from the line off the carb., but from idle up to about 2500 rpm's the lever is not moving what so ever, the engine want's to stumble a bit to.Could this just be a bad unit or is there something internally wrong in the distributer? :confused: | | |

Joined: Mar 2000 Posts: 1,177 | I believe you can disconnect the lever arm from the vacuum advance and operate it by hand. By doing that, you could test whether or not the mechanical parts of the advance are operating as expected.
You can also disconnect the vacuum hose from the advance, attach a rubber hose to it, suck through it and see if it holds a vacuum. (Or use a vacuum tester if you happen to have one handy.) | | |
