Were the chevy 2 ton 2 speed axles vented to prevent over pressure when it heats up? If so where is the vent located.

As far as I know every axle has an atmospheric vent, all of my GM rears have been on the drivers side axle tube or high on the center section. The vent on my '57 two ton is a short stub of pipe with a type of cap to prevent dirt from entering.

I'll have to check my axle. The reason I ask is my friends 2006 1 ton vent got plugged and it blew out his front seal, turned his fluid to brown gunk and ruined his input shaft bearing
