I have a 1964 327 in a 1957 Chevy 1/2ton. I’m using Chevy rams horns exhaust manifolds. The drivers side manifold has two holes in the front of the casting that I assume are for an alternator mount. Can anyone tell me what that mount looks like and what part number I need?

Thank you,
Larry

Both the 57 and 64 V8 engines had generators. If you do a search for sbc short water pump alternator mount kit there will be a number of hits. Alan Grove has bare steel kits that are lower priced than the chrome/stainless/billet ones.

Thank you. I looked at the Alan Grove site and they do have a lot of options. I’d like to utilize the driver side exhaust manifold holes to create something out of the pile of brackets that I have, but maybe it will be simpler to go aftermarket.

I used this one from Speedway, it designed to use with headers but I'm sure you could fab up something close to work with your manifold. https://www.speedwaymotors.com/Small-Block-Chevy-Alternator-Slide-Bracket,18433.html

Just seen this thread.
I bought a 57 GMC one ton a few years ago and it has the 327 cobbed in it.
I'll try and get some pictures posted tonight.

63 up 283 & 327 engines used an alternator with a bracket that mounted on the front side to the two staggered holes on the left rams horn manifold. The bracket held the lower part of the alternator with an extension of the bracket attached to the (short) water pump. The adjustment bracket attached to the front of the intake similar to the one used on a 57. I think I have them somewhere.
