Hey Bolters, Rebuilding the u-joint on my 46 1/2 ton. I wanted to check to be sure, but I'm thinking the lubrication slots in the yoke should face the transmission?

That would be my guess. Although it may not really matter. I recall that the rebuild kit I used on mine didn't have grooves like that. I may have to dig it out of the parts box and check again. Is that the original cross or the replacement? The replacements are listed as fitting 40-54 1/2 tons.

I just happened to dig out my repaired u-joint, and it does have the grooves. I installed them toward the tranny, so I'm pretty sure that's the way it came out, as I'm usually pretty careful about putting things back together the way they come apart.
