My '57 Panel Truck has fiberglass fenders on the front. On a Chevelle I had, I left out the inner fenders to shave weight. Can I do the same with this truck? The only point that I can think of that might be of concern is, the bottoms of the fenders don't have anything to bolt to for rigidity.

Sure you can but there are all kinds of reasons that is a bad idea. Including the one you mentioned.
1. Motor and exhaust gets real wet and dirty. Can cause motor to die in a puddle. Splashing oil, paint, chemical spills, road salt onto hood, firewall and motor.
2. Air flow is greatly disturbed and motor can over heat.
3. Structural movement and noise.
4. Components mounted to inner fender and wiring harness must be moved.
5. Radiator cross member and deflectors sometimes attach to inner fenders.
6. Hood fit
7. Air cleaner intakes more dirt
8. Rocks, road debris can kick up and damage hood or hoses, wires, tubing.
9. Ugly

Thanks for the feedback- I have the passenger side one, but have been having some trouble determining what everything bolts to, so I thought maybe I could just leave them out. Sometimes the FAM is a bit hard to follow.

I was still adding info when you quoted.
As far as assembly, once you get it up in there you will see what all it's holes are for or look at any 55.2-59 truck in your area.

My biggest point of confusion is up front by the radiator support. I also can't tell how everything is supposed to bolt up in the lower corner down by the cab. I can see where the holes along the top match up to the outer fender, though.

This vehicle is really only going to be driven on nice days, and to car shows, so I wasn't really concerned about the road grime. But I can see your other points being valid as well.

And in regard to your comment about comparing to another truck in my area, I don't see ANY of these near me, lol- I have to wait until Carlisle at the end of the month. frown
