I installed my front motor mount according to the tech tips picture of the four pieces.(https://www.stovebolt.com/techtips/engines/motor_mount_front/pieces.jpg) When I disassembled the motor mount when pulling the engine it had these two 1/8 inch washers sitting on the frame cross member under the mount. Are these part of the assembly or someone`s added parts?? If needed I can jack up the front and slide them in I guess.

They do belong and can be installed by jacking the engine up a bit. You may have to loosen the rear motor mount bolts to get the front of the engine up enough.

EditThey are used to adjust the front of the hood and fenders.

Those special washers were used on all trucks except 5000 series, according to the FAM.

[on edit] Phil beat me to the punch. thumbs_up

Just a small correction. These do go under the engine mount and have nothing to do with fender alignment.
There has been discussion here before on what they put them there for, but no proof.

You are absolutely right. We are talking about the front engine mount and not the radiator support. My mistake!

The only thing I can see that they would do is change the engine angle by a miniscule amount. Maybe they're there to prevent the rubber of the mount from squeezing between the bolts and the frame hole?

It has been suggested before that they are for setting engine/U joint angle. It was also suggested that because the crossmember may not be perfectly flat under the mount, it may act like a bridge for the uneven surface.

Swami 29 A note of caution, if you raise your engine be careful not to put a jack under the actual pan ,it can shift the dipper system on a babbit engine. This can really foul the works ! Long ago saw this create a knock on one, dipper system is fragile that way. jack-up on the pan rail !! Also your mount parts look good most are pretty cruddie.
