Hello,
how much engine oil must fill into the engine?
Ask Wolfgang

I'm working on a Chevy Pickup 3600, build 1953 with an 235 cui engine.

What year 235?

What size truck did it come out of? Some big trucks in some years might have a larger oil pan?

If you are not sure of the original application of the engine, find and post the engine serial number.

Wolfgang,
Five US quarts should work for most oil pan configurations.

Plus 1 quart for the filter if so equipped is what I use.
