My 1957 Panel's driver-side, upper door hinge, is missing the top bolt. I can't tell from looking, through the hole, if the cage nut is in there or not.

If I remove the hinge from its location, would I be able to feel up inside to determine if the nut is totally gone or not? I can't see down from the top obviously, as there is the cowl/metal there.

Thanks in advance!

I believe that one is accessible from outside of firewall. May have to take off fender.

I've ordered the missing bolt from H and H Classic Parts in AR. This is my first order with them, and it looks like the bolt should be here tomorrow. Man I hope so, I really need to get that driver door on!!

So the parts came, and when I checked the hinge, I learned that THREE bolts hold it in place, not 2. The worst part is, I need the backing nut/block nut/whatever you call it for the UPPER hole (shown in pic). Where can I buy or order those? I don't have the means to machine one myself.

After reading up, the cage nuts are available through Mar K. That supplier is a bit pricey for me, but I went ahead and ordered some.
