For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jul 2019 Posts: 32 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jul 2019 Posts: 32 | I've done a fair amount of searching on the internet but have come up with shallow, somewhat confusing info. I'm trying to get solid ID and the year range for my 5-speed manual trans so I can get the right parts for it. It is bolted up to the back of my Chevy V-6 4.3 (which is another thing I need to clarify the ID of...)
I picked it thinking it was an NV3500 but now suspect it might be one of the older versions. The tag reads:
DXF 12572824 MUNCIE *61 DXF M040034

It was mated to 4.3 and 4.8L vehicles. I agree that understanding the DXF designation would narrow the application. I don't have that info. Good luck on your search.

This entry from this online parts service shows a transmission with your part number and the DXF designation being for use with the 4.3 L engine and used in a 2007 year. You'll know more after you chat to a good parts dealer. Again good luck. https://www.wholesalegmpartsonline....assembly=372049&ukey_product=2667325
