I have wanted to do this article for some time, but time did not permit. Now, circumstances beyond my control have given me more shop time.

The article is a "paper" study of the 7 different Carter aftermarket YF carbs for Chevrolet 235 CID sixes. I did not include those for the 216, as there is significantly less interest.

I am in the process of doing a "physical" study, where I will compare throttle arms, bottom plates, air cleaner arrangements, distributor port arrangements, etc. This study will be done with pictures, which will be added to the current article.

Carter YF aftermarket carburetors for the Chevrolet 235

Thanks very much for this, Jon. Question for you...the info I have on the 3211s is this: main jet of .092" a metering rod (75-1584) with a power tip diameter of .048~.0485" and an economy zone diameter of .070~.0175" and a fuel inlet diameter of .076". Should I use the data you've provided instead? The metering rod data is virtually the same, but the main jet and fuel inlet diameters aren't.

Jon G. - the specifications I listed for the 3211s are what I believe are the final specifications, printed in 1968.

I just double-checked to make sure I hadn't made a "fat finger" mistake, but I didn't.

The 0.076 fuel valve was used in the YF 938sa~938sd used on the Willys 134 CID 4 cylinder.

Jon.

Thanks Jon,
I'll amend my records. The date on what I had was not dated 1968. Maybe they changed it?
