Disappointed with hines drive today to many new cars
Cops were saying they don't get paid enough to tell
People they can't drive on the cruise. Drive 1/2 of cruise
And left

I hear you. Supposed to be only 25 years and older vehicles, but saw many "newer" vehicles.
My 54' truck isn't road worthy yet, so I had the 83' Monte Carlo. Parked and walked a lot.

I was there too! I did not see many newer cars, unless you consider vehicles from the 80's up to 94 as "newer". They are 25 years and older. My 95 Ford Ranger beater would qualify next year and I don't think of it as a classic for sure. It still beats the Woodward Dream Cruise, which has become totally unbearable.

Interesting. I know he said that some of the newer vehicles "sneak in", and that they do not let them in.....but I saw several of the newer vehicles with the yellow tag you get when you pay the $5 to get in, so I know they were let in...anyways...
Regardless, I still think it is a great show overall, and a lot more enjoyable than the Woodward Dream Cruise.

Hoping to make it to a couple shows this weekend as well.
Saturday: looking at either the Downtown Durand, MI show or the Dixieland Flea Market Show
Sunday: Romeo, MI show during the day and parade/cruise downtown Romeo at night.

The unauthorized late model vehicles on a closed cruise course is a problem all organizers face. Our closed course Route 66 cruise in early June of each year is a prime example. There are approximately 25 intersections to be blocked off. That means all hands on deck at the PD and Sheriffs Office. They all get paid to make sure no one without the proper placard gets in the closed loop. Over the years there have been fights, tickets and folks going to jail for entering against orders. The problem lies in the fact that the entire route has residences along it. How can they tell people “You can’t go home for 3 hours” without making some mad. Most people know the date and make sure they are home before starting time but some just have to push the envelope. The Club here is very strict on the 25 year rule but occasionally someone will fool them and get a placard anyway. Sorry your experience was not a good one.

This is my first post on this thread. Finished my 37 in January and am planning on going to the show in Rockford Mi. in September. My oldest son and grandkids live there so will trailer truck down for the show. Anyone in that area going to attend? Bill

Hi Bill, Rockford is too far for my truck if driven and I don't have a trailer for it. I have to stay pretty close to home with it 'cause top end is 45 MPH.

My grandkids have been asking when the truck is gonna be done so they are really excited to go to their local show. I am also ready to get it on the road and see how it feels and drives. It is a 500 miles one way but will be worth it to see their faces when they get a ride.

I haven't been to this show before, but looking forward to checking out some great trucks.
Hopefully some other Stovebolters will be in attendance?

Dang, I was really hoping you were talking about Monroe, WA. We're starving for a good swap meet out here in the PNW.

Always a good one with a ton of vendors, have picked up some good deals in the past. Rumor has it they have so many vendors and health dept. is setting limits of 1000 and 375 inside expo including vendors so show is still up in the air. From the social page:

SHOW NOTICE: We were told by the Fairgrounds they anticipated we could have 2-3000 spectators. Now the Health Department lowered the count to 1000 outside and 375 inside the Expo Building including vendor count. We are currently negotiating with the Health Department; but if they limit us to 1000 total people; we have that many vendors which means no spectators. We will not have the show unless we believe our vendors can have a successful show. We will keep you updated and should be able to make a decision by April 2. Thanks for your patience. We are doing our best to make the show happen.

So, the Fowlerville swap meet is no longer scheduled for May?
I also so that the Monroe swap meet is in jeopardy of having to cancel, but haven't heard an update, yet.
