Has anyone used a resistor to lower volts going to heater motor?
If so what kind are you using?

Joe,

Check out Deve's website, there is a good write up on a harrison heater restoration and how to convert the motor to 12 volt. It may be easier to convert the fan to 12 volt than use resistors. I assume that you are working on an AD truck...

Joe Alan NAPA has em kind of expensive but a 12v motor is about 75$. resistors about 13$ takes 2 I think, watch where you put those they get hot. My 51 works fine on the resistors its the round heater. Low speed works too.

I used a resistor from a 60's GM vehicle. They are used with the three speed heater switch to reduce fan speed. The coiled resistance wire is often located in the defroster duct of the heater. Take care where you place them. They get very hot.

They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing.
