It was love at first sight. I had to save her from suffering any more. She was left for dead buried in the snow abandoned for God knows how long. Wife could of killed me, but I knew it was a great deal and was not going to wait one day longer and risk the chance of somebody else buying this truck. My dear wife has since feel in love with this truck with me, now that it's home and she sees the potential. Pheew!! 😅
I'm going to save the powertrain conversation for a few weeks/months down the road. Right now will be taking pictures and documenting tear down of the body and frame. To everyone that previously commented "nice truck" Thank You!! I am blessed to have this opportunity!!
OK, thanks for the report. The Thumb probably holds more treasures waiting to be saved. My wife is not as excited with our '57 but she has driven it. I'm still picking away at it but it's usable and I enjoy it.

That's a beauty man, and super cool the wife has driven it! Let me know if you get front disc brakes figured out. Not sure if we share the same or common parts up front?
I have no plans to modify the front axle or brakes, I rebuilt all 6 wheel cylinders and the master cylinder and my brakes are great even without the Hydro-Vac hooked up. You let me know when your ready to get rid of the rear axle, it would be an upgrade from my single speed 7.20:1, I top out at 45 mph against the governor.

Bignscar My 51 6400 about the same drove it to coffee this morning,kinda squirrely on cold stiff tires,has some tow out I need to correct.Not to ambitious with it cold and raw like this, like to work off of cardboard in T-shirt weather the best.

I hear ya, I'm working on card board with the propane heater blasting at me!
It's not much, but I got to use a new brass wire wheel today.
Also, 90% sure I'm going the wrap route instead of paint, I realize it's a little against the grain, but I like the idea of it lasting longer and being less prone to scratch. Have some cool color scheme ideas 💡
