In my 54 3100 I have a 350 SBC and a 700R4. Am installing a new Edelbrock 600 carb. On this combination will I need an adapter for the TV cable hookup to get the right angle. I have read that for this carb & trans you have to buy an adapter to make this work correctly. Anybody out there have any experience with this? Thanks in advance. | | | | | Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 4,983 Master Gabster | | Master Gabster Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 4,983 | Sorry jerry, I have a Holly with my 700R4. We have the chassis more or less complete. The rebuilt 350 hasn't been fired up yet but am trying to plan ahead on this. I did not realize that an Edelbrock carb might not have the proper hookup for a TV cable for a trans as popular as a 700R4. Is there anyone out there that has any experience with this problem. | | | | | Joined: Jul 2007 Posts: 17 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Jul 2007 Posts: 17 | Just checked out your pictures on the webshots. Nice job.Its going to be a great truck. As soon as I can figure out how I will post some pictures of mine. Mine is a little more lowbuck than yours but I hope it will turn out as nice. | | | | | Joined: Jun 2004 Posts: 8,597 Riding in the Passing Lane | | Riding in the Passing Lane Joined: Jun 2004 Posts: 8,597 | There is a kit to hook it up, but you can improvise if you get the right distance from the center of the throttle shaft & correct arc. For the TV cable hookup, could I copy the hookup from the old throttle body as far as angle and distance from the throttle shaft. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2005 Posts: 1,026 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2005 Posts: 1,026 | I'm running the Edelbrock on my 327/700r4 combo. I found the correct brackets on Ebay. Log on & do a search for "700r4 brackets". You should have a variety to choose from.
