Hey guys. I have a 47 Chevy 2 ton truck. Talking with a parts guy he tells me that the center strip on the smaller trucks is 55” long. I measure the strip on my hood and it’s 49.25”. Does that sound right? Does the bigger truck have a shorter hood? If so I’m thinking I can buy the trim for the smaller truck and cut it down and make it fit. I’m having trouble finding the strip for my hood. It’s completely eat up and in pieces.
Yes, the COE hoods are shorter than the regular cab models.
I think you could adapt the center strip for a regular cab to fit, but it might take some creative modifying, as the curve is likely different, and the securing tabs are likely in different positions.

Sorry. Regular cab and not COE. I’m sure they will be setup differently but I don’t have many options. There a few junkers around here but not able to come up with the strip. If the one for the smaller trucks is actually longer than 49” I feel like I could modify to make it work. My dad is a retired steel worker of 50+ years so I’m sure he could help.
