I have two transmissions (350 turbo and a 700) I can install in my 1950 Chevy 1/2 ton. I have a 350 V8 in it and want to know what is the best tranny. Is one more reliable? I know the 700 has overdrive. Are the gear ratios of the lower gears in the 700 different than that of the 350? Thanks.

The 700R4, with the latest modifications, is supposed to be a strong tranny. Dad had one behind a 454 that he pulled a 36' trailer all over the country, with no problems. Go to the Nowak tranny page for info on the 350 and 700
