Hi guys, new to the forum. My dad, myself, and my son are putting my dads 41 gmc back together. I have done some research. We are missing the hood pivot. I believe this is what it's called. Is it also true the chevy one won't work? Any help in where I can find one to get the truck back together would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Welcome!
Do you mean the hinge in the center between the two halves?

Is this the hood hinge bracket that bolts to the cab with 2 screws? If it is, Chevs of the 40's has them. part no. 473987.

It looks like a hood ornament on the front part of the hood that bolts to the radiator support

If you are talking about the chromed piece that divides the hood in the front, it is correct that Chevy and GMC are different and not interchangeable. I have both and can send you pictures of both so you know what to look for. PM me. Dave
