I have 51 3100 on a S-10 chassis. Does anybody know if I can safely put a BB chevy motor in it using the stock SIO front suspension?
Also, I want to put a large set of tires under the rear. Any recomendations on rear end/wheel combinations?
Thanks in advance for your recommendations.

As Joe says, the BB in the S-10 should not be a problem. What transmission are you going to run and how do you plan to drive this thing?

I assume going to an S-10 frame you aren't building a monster trailer puller or a car hauler so you don't need to consider things like a 14 bolt or bigger rear. If you plan to work a 502 or bigger motor, or even if you plan to push a 396 hard, you'll want a stout rear.

If you are just putting the big motor in for eye appeal, a 10-bolt GM rear should be fine. Otherwise you probably want a 9-inch Ford. There are other options, but I can't come up with any real good reasons for something obscure without knowing more about your intended use.

It's true. I really don't do anything but browse the Internet looking for trouble...

Probably a warmed over 402-454 with a turbo 400 trans. I want soemthing that will perform as well as look good. I have always liked AD's with a big set of rear tires-now I want to build one.
I plan to "drive" it.
I may go for a blown small block. At this point I am trying to get as much input from the guys that have built one and can save me from going down the wrong path in construction.
Thanks,Jeff
